Portland Heights Craftsman
A water leak prompted the homeowners of this 1910 Craftsman to undertake much needed repairs and reimagine their underutilized lower level in the process. Jessica Lane Interiors was enlisted to define the project scope and assemble the team needed to bring the vision to life, partnering with builder ReCraft to address critical upgrades, including electrical improvements, structural repairs, and HVAC enhancements.
The lower level now serves as a warm, multi-purpose gathering space for the whole family. A custom kitchenette, built-in fireplace cabinetry, and thoughtful furniture layout balance comfort and functionality. The relocated gas fireplace anchors the room, while layered lighting creates a welcoming atmosphere. The basement stairwell received new paneling and expanded ceiling height for improved circulation between floors. The result is an inviting lower level that supports family time, entertaining, and everyday living.
